Swim Meet Wrap Up - Dual Meet vs. Scouts and Suburban Splash Down
We are so proud of the swimming that we saw over the weekend at our two home meets in Highland Park. We saw great energy from the whole team, amazing time drops, and many swimmers compete in their first meet. We are so excited to continue holding smaller meets like this to create a great racing environment for everyone. We saw so many of our swimmers having a blast competing and cheering on their teammates.

During the Highland Park vs. Scouts meet, we recorded 27 new Personal Best Times and 7 new Scratch Off Times. This meet was designed to prepare 11-and-older athletes for the high school swim meet structure and schedule. Swimmers competed great; awesome job Highland Park!
At our first ever Developmental Meet, the Suburban Splash Down, we had an incredible time watching so many of our swimmers put on a great showing! We recorded 44 new Personal Best Times and 29 new Scratch Off Times. This meet was, by all accounts, a HUGE SUCCESS! We are so happy to have so many new swimmers at the meet and it was great seeing how excited everyone was after their first set of races. We can't wait for the next meet in this series happening on June 25th at Prospect HS.
The points were calculated slightly differently for the Dev Meet. We want to reward swimmers and teams for completing an event successfully rather than the place they finished: 1 point for each successful 25, 2 points per 50, and 3 points per 100. Relays were scored based on finish position. After the first meet in the series the scores are below. The first number is the total team score and the number in parentheses is the score before relays.

Swim Meet Wrap Up - SWAT May-Hem
Congratulations to all the swimmers who competed this weekend in Pleasant Prairie, WI at the SWAT May-Hem Swim Meet. We saw some great swims from our athletes and real growth in their confidence during races. Athletes who competed last weekend showed improvement and consistency and those competing for the first time this season helped reinforce the standards we set last week.
Even with a swim meet just last weekend, we saw an incredible number of new Personal Bests with 80 swims coming in at a best time. We also had 29 solid Scratch Off swims. The number of swims that improved upon last weekend's best times was incredible. Let's keep that momentum going for the rest of the season.
We also had 4 swimmers compete in their first LCM meet. Huge congrats to Trevor B, Kensi C, Kate E, Harlin S! That first splash in a long course pool can be a challenge but you all rose to the occasion and performed really well :)

Swim Meet Wrap Up - NASA Spring Blast Off
We had a very successful first meet of the season this past weekend in Evanston. Success is based on several metrics, and the coaches saw improvements in all areas. We saw significant time drops, improved technique, and some great team spirit across all our groups. The coaches were all very impressed by the starting point we have set. Now let's build on this awesome start and have a great rest of the season.
For the NASA Spring Blast Off Meet, we had 99 new personal bests achieved during the weekend, these are events where swimmers improved on a previous time they had achieved. We also had 66 new scratch off events, new swims never completed before. While this number will be high for the first few meets of the season as more people try their first Long Course Meter (LCM) events, we hope this encourages all swimmers to be more open to new events and new challenges. You'll never know your true ability in a certain event without trying it!
